The body is both presence and identity, matter and concept. It is the place where biology, culture, desire, and power intertwine, but also the very first space of connection with the world. Every body carries stories, possibilities, and limitations. Yet many remain excluded from dominant narratives, invisible in the media, marginalized in healthcare and the workplace.
In this issue, we explore the plurality of bodies as both a resource and a collective challenge: from aesthetic biases to fatphobia, from unequal access to healthcare to the need for a more inclusive approach in scientific research, all the way to the right of every person to inhabit their own body free from discrimination.
We share experiences and practices that center bodily equity and dignity, proposing a shift in perspective that goes beyond normative models and creates space for the affirmation of all shapes and functions of the human body. Transforming the way we think, communicate, and design around bodies means building a fairer, more accessible society, one that can truly recognize the richness of diversity.
