Generali Group, Pride celebrations around the world and the ongoing commitment of We PROUD: a tangible expression of its commitment to Diversity, Equity and Inclusion

Over the past few years, the inclusion of LGBTQIA+ people has become an increasingly prominent topic in social and corporate debate. For Generali, however, this is not about following a trend, but about giving substance to a principle that is part of the company’s culture: creating a workplace where everyone can feel respected, valued and free to express their identity.

It is in this context that the Group’s growing participation in Pride celebrations across countries around the world and the ongoing work of We PROUD, the Employee Resource Group (ERG) dedicated to the LGBTQIA+ community, come together. They are two expressions of a commitment that helps make Diversity, Equity and Inclusion tangible elements of everyday corporate life.

The Strategic Relevance of Pride
For Generali, Pride is not simply a celebration, but a tangible expression of the values that guide the company’s strategy and culture. Diversity, Equity and Inclusion are one of the pillars of the Lifetime Partner 27: Driving Excellence strategy and of the Group’s broader cultural transformation journey.

Over time, the focus on LGBTQIA+ inclusion has evolved from an awareness-raising topic into an increasingly integrated element of corporate policies and practices, demonstrating how inclusion and performance are not competing objectives, but interconnected elements that can mutually reinforce one another.

Every Pride therefore represents an opportunity to celebrate the progress achieved, acknowledge the challenges that remain and renew the commitment to building an increasingly inclusive workplace that respects and values diversity.

The Role of Leadership
One of the aspects that has most characterised the evolution of this journey is the growing involvement of the Group’s Leadership. The presence of key members of top management at Pride events, their public support and their sponsorship of inclusion initiatives send a strong and clear message throughout the organisation: valuing diversity is not a secondary issue, but a strategic priority.

Through their active participation, inclusion is perceived as an integral part of the way the company operates and makes decisions. This helps strengthen trust, a sense of belonging and the psychological safety that enables people to express their full potential without fear of judgement or discrimination.

The increasingly visible participation of leadership in Pride celebrations around the world demonstrates how this commitment is shared at every level of the organisation and represents a collective responsibility that is essential to building the company’s future.

An Increasingly Widespread Presence at Pride Month Celebrations
2026 represents another important milestone in Generali’s inclusion journey. After years of steady growth, the Group participated in Pride celebrations in Vienna, Milan, London, Madrid, Cologne, Luxembourg, Enniskillen, Bratislava, Prague, Hong Kong and Paris, involving thousands of colleagues around the world.

While in 2023 its presence was limited to a single event, today its involvement extends across eleven international cities. Yet beyond the numbers, what matters is the significance of this evolution: the growth of an increasingly open, inclusive and participatory culture.

Over time, Pride has become a moment for connection and sharing, bringing together LGBTQIA+ community members, colleagues and leaders around a shared message: everyone should feel respected, recognised and valued for who they are.

Participation in these celebrations therefore represents not only an act of support, but also an opportunity to strengthen a sense of belonging and awareness of the value that emerges when different experiences, perspectives and identities come together.

We PROUD, the Global Employee Resource Group Dedicated to the LGBTQIA+ Community
While Pride represents the most visible expression of Generali’s commitment to the LGBTQIA+ community, inclusion work continues throughout the year through We PROUD. The Group’s LGBTQIA+ ERG plays a fundamental role in fostering dialogue, raising awareness and promoting an inclusive culture through numerous information initiatives, opportunities for discussion, personal stories and communication campaigns.

By involving not only members of the LGBTQIA+ community, but also allies — colleagues who wish to support the ERG — We PROUD works every day to raise awareness, challenge stereotypes and prejudice, and foster meaningful cultural change.

Its goal is to contribute to creating an open, respectful and inclusive workplace, not only during Pride Month, but throughout the entire year.

A Voice That Continues to Be Heard
Generali’s commitment to the LGBTQIA+ community stems from the belief that Diversity, Equity and Inclusion are essential to building an organisation that is sustainable, innovative and ready to meet the challenges of the future.

The Pride celebrations that bring together an increasing number of countries, people and leaders each year represent the most visible expression of this journey. It is a journey that reflects tangible cultural evolution, built on dialogue, participation and shared responsibility.

Along this path, We PROUD and the increasingly strong involvement of leadership have helped transform awareness into participation, dialogue into understanding, and inclusion into an everyday commitment.

Because the deeper meaning of Pride does not end with a single day or parade. It is about the determination to build, every day, an environment in which everyone can feel recognised, respected and valued for who they are.

And that is why Generali will continue to make its voice heard, promoting a culture that celebrates differences and transforms them into a source of strength capable of creating value for people, for the business and for the communities in which it operates.
