We Care: people at the centre
The health and wellbeing of employees has become something broader, more nuanced, and above all more human. Coming to work means bringing with you your energy, concerns, fatigue, and ambitions. Ignoring this complexity means overlooking a fundamental part of what makes an organization truly alive. This is why many companies now view individual and collective wellbeing as an ecosystem in which physical health, mental wellbeing, and relationships are deeply interconnected. Physical wellbeing remains the starting point, but it is no longer enough on its own; organizations must also create habits and environments that help people thrive over time.
There is also the mental dimension, often invisible yet incredibly powerful. Chronic stress, constant pressure, and the difficulty of disconnecting can slowly erode an individual’s wellbeing if left unaddressed. But health extends beyond the body and the mind. Equally important is how people feel within their working environment: whether they feel heard or ignored, valued or interchangeable.
Relationships, workplace culture, and the quality of leadership have a profound impact on everyday wellbeing, often more than any benefit programme. In this context, the balance between work and personal life becomes a central issue. It is not simply about flexible working hours or remote work arrangements; it is about giving people the possibility not to have to choose constantly between their careers and their personal commitments, interests, or aspirations.
When this balance is lacking, the human and organizational costs become increasingly evident over time. It is within this framework that our We Care programme was created, dedicated to promoting holistic wellbeing. It is an integrated approach that places the individual, in all their complexity, at the centre. Rather than a collection of isolated initiatives, it is a structured journey developed over time through observation, dialogue, listening, and a test-and-learn approach. Combining prevention, support, and personal development, its goal is to create a workplace where people can truly thrive. We firmly believe that caring for people is not only a responsibility, but also a choice that shapes the future of an organization.
Findomestic has always placed people at the heart of its strategy by identifying key touchpoints—significant moments in both professional and personal life that are characterized by specific wellbeing needs. These may relate to psychological and mental wellbeing, physical health, prevention and healthcare, financial wellbeing, social wellbeing, family responsibilities, parenting, and more. The process begins with listening to employees through a variety of channels, co-creating tailored initiatives, engaging with other organizations, monitoring and measuring outcomes, and maintaining an ongoing dialogue with trade unions.
On this foundation, we have gradually developed a range of dedicated projects and support tools. These include nutrition and healthy lifestyle programmes, disease prevention initiatives, preventive healthcare services—also through our partnership with ANT—comprehensive health insurance plans extended to employees’ families, awareness and training programmes, counselling and support services, and dedicated resources for managers.
The We Care project, developed through an analysis of market best practices and, above all, through listening to our employees, was launched to harmonize health and wellbeing initiatives across the Group and foster a shared approach across all business areas and geographies.
The programme is structured around three main pillars:
- Health and Protection Pathways: providing meaningful protection and support for our people throughout the different stages of their lives and careers;
- Health Prevention: promoting preventive care, raising awareness of key health risks, and offering support when challenges arise;
- Wellbeing (social, emotional/mental, physical, and financial): fostering both individual wellbeing and a work environment that enhances quality of life, personal fulfilment, and overall wellbeing at work.
The programme follows a clear strategy aimed at fostering a genuine culture of care. Particular attention is devoted to combating sedentary lifestyles and addressing psychosocial risks through initiatives designed to protect and promote both physical and mental health. In addition, core insurance coverage—including life, disability, and health insurance—is provided across all Group companies.
Within this framework, each country and/or business entity has adapted the We Care programme to reflect its specific local needs and context where necessary. As a result, the programme is delivered through a variety of tools and formats that share a common identity. A single brand, a simple and accessible language, and consistent standards across all countries and legal entities ensure a coherent employee experience. It is a shared strategy driven by a commitment to continuous improvement and an ambition to evolve alongside the needs of our people.
