Reale Group is redefining the rules of AI: training, trust, and human-centricity
From the very beginning, Reale Group sought to clearly define its vision: AI is not a tool for replacement, but an enabler capable of expanding possibilities, improving the quality of daily work, and enhancing individual productivity. A careful and gradual change management journey has guided people toward the conscious adoption of innovation, providing tools, skills, and continuous support. This approach has enabled Reale Group to stand out in the national context, establishing itself as one of the first organizations in Italy to integrate AI in a sustainable, inclusive, and human-centered way.
The AI Care Program
Created as a careful and gradual change management initiative, its goal is to raise awareness among employees about the potential of AI, supporting and guiding them toward greater awareness, knowledge, and responsible use of the tool. It accompanies them in integrating these technologies into daily productivity, ensuring that the benefits of adoption are fairly distributed across the Group.
This ambitious journey has involved several corporate functions: Group Change Management, Group Information Security and Data Protection, Group DS CoE, Group Organization and Process Transformation, Reale Ites, and Reale Seguros – Area de Transformación y Organización. The program supports people in an incremental and modular way through three levels of maturity and different target groups: initial awareness (for all Group employees); training and active experimentation (for specific groups); and widespread adoption of generative AI tools such as Microsoft Copilot and Reale GPT.
For the adoption of Microsoft Copilot, the journey was structured in progressive phases: the pilot involved around 300 people from different functions and countries within the Group; the subsequent rollout took place gradually, guided by feedback and usage data. To date, more than 1,500 colleagues use Copilot on a daily basis. Transparency has been a key element of this process, with constant and open communication about the objectives, challenges, and results of the program. Reale Group has also invested significantly in research and training to explore new AI applications and identify best practices for its implementation. This commitment has resulted in increased internal capabilities and a greater capacity for innovation, making the Group one of the top performers in Italy in terms of adoption rates of Microsoft 365 Copilot.
Training and Communication
So far, more than 11,000 hours of training have been delivered, with 4,100 participations and 31 training modules. The activities have included both theoretical and practical sessions, workshops, labs, and seminars to provide concrete skills in the use of AI across different contexts.
Alongside training, AI Care has developed a well-structured communication plan, centered on “Really,” the Group’s digital workplace, which includes:
- AI Care Community. Open to the entire company population, it represents the beating heart of the Group’s generative AI enablement program. Its main objectives are to promote a culture of conscious, ethical, and responsible AI; provide in-depth insights and internal business cases on emerging AI trends; and support the adoption of internal tools.
- Copilot Community. Reserved for those who have received a Microsoft 365 Copilot license, it provides training materials and video tutorials. It is a space for exchange where employees can find useful prompts, interact with the working group, and stay up to date on initiatives and events.
Within the two communities, there are currently nearly 2,000 members, with more than 9,000 total visits and 90 shared posts. The AI Care communication plan was awarded at the Intranet Italia Day 2025 in the Content and Initiatives category. It was recognized for its excellent ability to tailor content to different target audiences and for the strong engagement of employees, achieving outstanding results in terms of views and interactions within the communities.
Success Factors and Benefits Achieved
The success of the AI Care program and the adoption of Microsoft 365 Copilot has been driven by several key factors. First and foremost, strategic partnerships. Collaboration with Microsoft and with Digital Attitude—a certified partner with expertise in technology adoption programs—has made it possible to access top-level resources, technical support, and expertise.
Secondly, the integrated training approach has enabled employees to acquire both theoretical knowledge and practical skills in using AI technologies, promoting active and participatory learning. Continuous monitoring through surveys and feedback tools has made it possible to assess the effectiveness of training activities, introduce ongoing improvements, and better adapt the program to emerging needs.
Effective communication and active engagement of internal communities have fostered a high level of participation and involvement in the program, creating a collaborative learning environment. In addition, the support and engagement of top management have been essential in ensuring strong alignment between the program’s strategic objectives and the company’s priorities.
Among the main benefits highlighted by colleagues, we can include:
- Greater efficiency and personal productivity. Internal surveys show that 66% of program participants save 30 to 60 minutes per day by using Microsoft 365 Copilot. This confirms the effectiveness of the training activities and the supportive role of AI technologies in freeing up time for less repetitive and more strategic tasks;
- New training opportunities, which have enabled the development of specific AI-related skills.
The AI Care program has provided a significant boost to the Group’s digital transformation, promoting the integration of AI technologies into business processes and improving information management. Supporting people through a digital transformation journey has made it possible to maximize the value of technological investments and ensure their alignment with strategic objectives. The adoption of AI solutions has exceeded industry benchmarks, demonstrating the Group’s ability to implement advanced technologies in an effective and sustainable way.
