The energy group Enel has announced the launch of a new program which, over the 2026–2027 two-year period, will offer around 32,000 employees in Italy — and their dependent family members — a free package of screening tests and diagnostic examinations. The initiative stems from an agreement with trade union organizations and represents a further step toward a care model that is increasingly attentive to people’s needs, placing employee health at the center.

The plan includes five differentiated pathways based on age and gender: under 30, women under and over 40, and men under and over 45. The aim is to ensure targeted and truly effective check-ups, calibrated to the main risk factors. Employees will be able to access, from March 2026 through December 2027, a series of essential tests designed to enable early detection of possible conditions, including chronic diseases or at-risk health states.

The program includes both laboratory tests — such as blood counts, glucose levels, triglycerides, and thyroid function tests — and diagnostic examinations such as dermatological visits, abdominal and thyroid ultrasounds, as well as cardiology checks and metabolic and endocrinological assessments. The entire pathway will conclude with an internal medicine consultation and an overall evaluation of the patient’s health status.

One of the distinguishing features of the initiative is the integration of telemedicine: at the end of the examinations, a remote consultation with an internal medicine physician is planned, helping employees interpret their results without the need for additional in-person visits. This solution aims to simplify the experience and make the prevention process more efficient.

Service management will be entrusted to the group’s supplementary health fund for employees, FISDE, through the Blue Assistance network, a leading provider in healthcare services. Thanks to a widespread network of affiliated facilities, services will be accessible across the entire national territory.

The total investment in the check-up program represents approximately 25% more than the company’s existing spending on healthcare welfare, confirming the central role of health in corporate policies. This commitment is part of a broader path aimed at building a more inclusive welfare system that is increasingly responsive to emerging needs.

The role of prevention, the company emphasizes, is crucial: early diagnosis allows for timely intervention and significantly improves treatment outcomes. In the workplace context, safeguarding individual health also translates into collective benefits, contributing to a healthier and more productive environment. In this framework, FISDE continues to play a key role, with around 98,000 member-beneficiaries and over 350,000 claims processed each year, providing support for medical visits, tests, and treatments, with particular attention also to disability and long-term care needs.

With this new initiative, Enel further strengthens a solid and accessible protection network, reaffirming its commitment to investing concretely in the quality of life of its people.
